This page is designed to answer a number of common questions that are asked when deciding on signing up to a club. We hope this helps.

- What ages do you cater for?
We have cater for players from 3 years onwards. Players will fit into one of the following categories.
MINI ROOS KICK OFF (Formally known as SQUIRTS) for ages 3-5 years. A non competitive fun weekly session that is a 10 week program starting in Term 2.
MINI ROOS – for ages Under 6 to Under 11.
JUNIOR COMPETITIVE – for ages Under 12 to Under 16
YOUTH – for ages Under 16 to Under 18
SENIOR COMPETITIVE – for ages 19 and above.
- When and how long are training and games?
The day and time training is held is determined by the coach and club.
Mini Roos Kick Off (Squirts) 3-5 years- (1 x 45 minute session per week – no games on weekends)
Mini Roos (Under 6 to Under 11) – (1 x 60 minute training session during the week and game on Saturday
Junior Competitive, Youth & Seniors (12 years of age and above) – (2x 60 minute training sessions per week & game on either Friday night, Saturday or Sunday)
- Where do training sessions occur?
Training sessions will occur at Calanna Park in Woree. Youth and Senior players will alternate between training at Calanna Park and JCU oval.
- What is the cost?
2020 Fee Breakdown:
Mini Roos Kick Off (Squirts) 3-5 years- $60
Mini Roos (U6-U11) – $290
Junior Competitive (U12-U16) – $350
Junior Playing Senior (16-18) – $350
JCU Students – $290
Senior Men & Women – $395
- Are there any additional costs?
All players must purchase and wear their own shin pads to training and games.
Players will be provided with a training strip which will include maroon shorts and a shirt. Maroon socks will need to be purchased.
Players will be provided with a travel shirt (polo) when they first join the club. This shirt is to be worn to and from the game. Additional shirts will need to be purchased from this point on.
A playing shirt is provided for the players for each game. This is worn only for the game and remains the property of the club. Parents take turns in washing the playing shirts. Sky blue shorts and socks will need to be purchased to complete the playing strip.
All additional items can be purchased from the club.
- Where are games played?
All mini roos and junior competitive teams (Under 6 to Under 16) will be played at Endeavour Park in Manunda.
Senior teams play using home and away venues. Our home games will mostly be played at JCU Oval in Smithfield.
- How do I register?
All registrations must be completed online. Go to playfootball.com.au
- Are there any Open Evenings & Mornings where I can talk to someone in person?
We will be holding open evenings and mornings throughout February at our Calanna Park Clubhouse.
Open Evenings –
Every Thursday evening throughout February & March 6-7pm @ Calanna Park.
Open Mornings –
Saturday 15th @ Cairns Biggest Sign On – 10am to 3pm
Saturday 8th, 22nd & 29th February 9-11am @ Calanna Park, Woree.
